Yenny Drop - A Huge Success

The Middle and High School Student Councils’ fundraising venture, ‘The Yenny Drop’ finished last Friday at 3:30pm. During the week, staff and students of St. Maur took guesses at how much money was in the yenny drop, which regardless of the final amount, was undoubtedly a success. For the past month, it has been a pleasure to see children, young and old, take great pleasure at watching their donations slide down the tube to the amassing pile at the bottom. The guesses ranged from 3,000yen to an optimistic 160,000, with the average guess being around 15,000 yen. However, the final amount was a staggering 95,543 yen. This was far above (nearly) everyone’s expectations. The closest guess was 82,428 by Mr. Rucci, who will receive a free ‘Pray for Japan’ t-shirt (another fundraising initiative undertaken by the HSSC which should be arriving this week).
On behalf of Miss Chotard of the HSSC, Brendan Agnew of the MSSC, and Gerard Morice & David Barrett of the ESSC, I would like to thank everyone who has enthusiastically supported the various St. Maur fundraising initiatives this semester.
Mr Dixon
